Adrian Van Wyk is a poet/writer and creative producer from Kuilsriver, Cape Town.

Since 2011 he has curated, produced and directed events for InZync Poetry NPO, a literary cultural non profit organization. With InZync, Adrian produced and directed over 60 shows for the poetry platform. Developing safe spaces of expression for poets and story-tellers within the greater Western Cape Region.. In 2015, Adrian was nominated as one of 200 young South Africans by the Mail & Guardian newspaper for his work with InZync Poetry.

Adrian graduated with a Masters degrees in History from Stellenbosch University with his dissertation focussing on the development of Hip Hop in the Cape. Adrian works with Azania Rizing Productions. With Azania Rizing Productions, Adrian is co-writing a feature fiction script. This script has been granted development funding in association with the South African National Film and Video Foundation. With two documentaries in production and set to be released in 2019 and 2020, Adrian is currently developing his skills as a Visual Story-Teller.

As Project Coordinator for the AOI Sonic Residency programme, Adrian Van Wyk is responsible for providing support for Artists-in-Residence.

With a firm knowledge of greater Cape Town and its cultural, political and geographic landscapes Adrian will be able to provide co-ordination for varied requirements and resources, which Sonic Residents may need; therby contributing to their public interventions and supporting their research to its full potential, while in residence. Furthermore, any administrative support that may be required will be afforded through Adrian’s coordination work. As an artist himself,

Adrian understand the value of collaboration and will be alongside Sonic Residents as a coordinator for their travel and stay within Cape Town. Subsequently visiting Sonic Residents will gain access to various points of research within Stellenbosch University. Adrian will help in making this process as smooth as possible.
